Undocking of the Fourth AIDA Club Ship Papenburg, 18 December 2009 – The AIDAblu, the fourth club ship for AIDA Cruises, is going to be floated out of MEYER WERFT's covered building dock I in the morning hours of 5 January 2010. The manoeuvre will begin around 7 a.m. The ship will leave the dock in one go this time since the funnel is already mounted while the ship is still in the dock. The AIDAblu will be moved in the harbour around 9 a.m. where she will undergo a couple of different tests. She is likely to be berthed alongside the yard's pier around 4.30 p.m. Changes of the float-out time schedule may occur due to weather conditions.
With the ship berthed at the pier, outstanding work and more tests and trials will be completed in the coming days. Following the undocking the first crew members will move into their quarters on board. The ship will be conveyed down the river Ems to her sea trials port in Emden on 16/17 January 2010.
The 71,100-gt ship is 252 m long and 32.20 m wide. She has 1,087 cabins and can reach an operating speed of more than 22 knots. Back
